February 22nd: Come out to our Saturday afternoon workshop at the Firehall Community Centre on Sunnyside Avenue! There will be plenty of activities to try for adults and kids 10 and up.
2019
April 23rd: Come on out for our Basic Sewing Machine Maintenance Workshop at the Nepean Centrepointe Library at 6:30, followed by a mini-bee at 7:30 so you can try out your newly maintained machine and see how it hums! Attendance is limited so please email boomerangbagsottawa@gmail.com to confirm your spot.
March 25th: We will be doing a Community & Demo Night at the Ottawa Tool Library, similar in nature to our workshop at the Westboro Brainery (below). Watch the Tool Library website or their Facebook page for registration information.
January 15th: Sign up for our evening workshop at the Westboro Brainery! It’s aimed at those who have a machine (or can borrow one) and know the basics of using it. Instructors will be on hand to help you make your very own Boomerang Bag. We supply all the materials and the cost is only $10!! To register, click here.

November 25th: OSCA Craft Show, 10:00am-4:00pm, at the Old Firehall, 260 Sunnyside Avenue. We’ll be in the Lounge – come and see us for some great seasonal gift ideas, gift wrapping ideas, and ideas about saving the world!
November sewing bee: November 6th at Sunnyside Library, 6:30-8:30 will be our Silkscreening Bee, for members only.
October 13th: Sunnyside Library, 11:15am-1:45pm. The event will inaugurate our newest style of sewing bee – a longer “open house” style event where you can come for the whole thing or just drop in as your schedule permits! Note the location and time change.
September 11th: Sewing Bee at Sunnyside Library, 6:30-8:30 pm. Come for sewing and refreshments, and meet an awesome bunch of world-savers. 🙂
September 8th: LAUNCH 2018!!!! We will be at the Old Ottawa South Porch Sale, on Ossington Avenue near Brewer Park, for our official launch and we are SUPER STOKED! There will be bags, kits, information, and volunteers who are as attractive and well-made as our bags! 😉
August 22nd: Sewing Bee at Sunnyside Library, 6:30-8:30 pm. We will have snacks and a socializing break!

June 14th: SOUP Ottawa microgrant competition! 6:00 pm at Hooley’s Pub, Elgin Street. $10 at the door (cash only) for a bowl of soup and a vote. Come out and support us!!
